"Sometimes one finds and old bottle which remembers from where all sprouts out lives a heart which returns." – Baudelaire

I remember my mom telling me when I was younger, you’re soo maarte talaga compared to your sister. You love colognes and perfumes soo much. And that’s one of the reasons why one of our dogs almost bit me (hehe). Cause I was too mabango.

Honestly, I can’t remember buying colognes and perfumes. I think I always had a regular supply cause people would always give me – my lolas, my aunts, my friends. Hmm. Looking back did it actually say something about me? That I was actually mabaho? I truly hope not!

My love for perfumes came back last year when I was influenced by a friend (Ahem… Ahem… calling Au) who I know has a lot of perfumes in stock and even has suki who would agree to be paid on an installment basis.

Anyway, for the past few weeks, I was looking for a certain scent for a friend of mine who is currently in the states. She was looking for Anna Sui’s Flight of Fancy. You wouldn’t believe how hard it was to find it.

I checked out online and the mall and most of the stores were out of stock. I bought one for my friend that costs PHP 300 from this multiply site. I was shocked that it was soo cheap because when I asked the store Fresh in Eastwood Mall, they said that it would cost around PHP 4,200.

I asked the seller why it soo cheap and she said that it’s Singapore. She said that it's almost the same with the scent except that the original would last longer than the Singapore version. The Singapore version is said to last around 6 hours and more than 24 hours on fabric.

Actually, I’m not that surprised at all. When I was in a Singapore a few years back, I remember distinctly that I bought some really cheap perfumes. They told me that they were testers that they didn’t use and did not sell it with the boxes.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if it’s original or not (well for me) for as long as you smell good! (Right?)

So now, I’m presenting to you the top 5 Perfumes that I’m Curious About. Any comments and suggestions will be much appreciated!

1.) Coach Poppy Flower

According to Sephora, a bright and charming fragrance with a romantic side, Poppy Flower Eau de Parfum mixes light, fruity notes with soft florals and a flirty trail.

Why I am curious: I know of Coach but they have not been very popular with their fragrances. They have been more popular as a bag brand.

Price in Sephora: USD 85 (approximately PHP 3,825)

In Multiply: Cannot be found…

2.) Calvin Klein Euphoria

According to Sephora, Euphoria is about sexiness, fantasy and being captivating. Sexy and sensual, euphoria speaks to the woman who has the urge to break free from everyday life – to provocatively be part of an exciting world filled with pleasure, surprise, and temptation. Her fragrance is a contrast between exotic fruits and seductive florals, for a rich, creamy, seductive signature.

Price in Sephora: USD 80 (approximately PHP 3,600)

In Multiply: PHP 2,100 (Check out this site)

3.) Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb

According to Sephora, this floral explosion releases a profusion of flowers that has the power to make everything seem more positive. Magically evocative notes immediately awaken your deepest senses, giving you the impression of living life in your own secret garden, away from reality.

Price in Sephora: USD 150 (approximately PHP 6750) *way too expensive

In Multiply: No price but available here.

4.) Clean Warm Cotton

According to Sephora, cozy up to CLEAN Warm Cotton Eau de Parfum, a fragrance that captures the comforting scent of just-out-of-the-dryer freshness. Blending the crispness of freshly laundered linens into an understated fragrance that is soft and subtly sexy, CLEAN Warm Cotton is perfect for the modern woman who is confident enough to let herself – not her fragrance - command attention.

Price in Sephora: USD 69 (approximately PHP 3, 105)

In Multiply: PHP 2,350 (Check out this site)

5.) Dior Addict to Life

According to Sephora, for the confident woman who knows what sh wants, she lives life fully and intensely. Dior Addict to Life is an addictive floral that opens with a bouquet of precious flowers. The bouquet has a natural freshness with sparkling rose, vibrant jasmine, lilac, and white musk.

Price in Sephora: USD 90 (approximately PHP 4050)

In Multiply: Cannot be found…

What about you? What’s your 2012 Perfume List?

Weekends don't count unless you spend them doing something completely pointless. ~Bill Watterson

Is that necessarily true? Well, I guess for me it's not. Weekends for me are spent doing something I like, doing something that I don't get to do on a normal day because I don't have time and just relaxing. Okay, maybe for some it's a bit pointless, but for me, it's the ultimate.

To make you have more fun and colorful weekend, I'm soo happy to share with you the new product of Mis Cosas - the Foldable Weekenders.

Mis Cosas Blue Bag Set
    Mis Cosas Blue Bag Set

The Mis Cosas Team came up with a foldable weekender because they saw the need of people having more compact and useful items in their day-to-day living. This January, they have release their newest product – the Mis Cosas Foldable Weekenders which caters to people who are always on the go but have very little space in their home. This particular product is being sold through their website: http://miscosasonline.com or through their multiply site: http://miscosas888.multiply.com.

Weekender Bags are usually very large and very hard to store. However, each and every individual at one point in their life, find a need for it. It may be that weekend getaway, or a 3-day/2-night retreat or as simple as a 3-hour gym workout. Now, Mis Cosas has came up with a perfect solution by offering the market a huge bag that folds into a 7 x 9” pouch for easy storage.

Truly, this bag comes in a small package but when unfolded, a 19 x 6 x 16" ( L x W x H) bag unfolds. It is also easy to carry with a 11” handle drop which allows you to carry it comfortably over your shoulders. For more storage, the bag also features 2 outer pockets with zippers and 1 inner pocket with zipper which allows you to keep small items such as car keys or hair ties. This bag also comes in a waterproof nylon material which is the same material that as the waterproof Mis Cosas Crayon Carry Alls that was released last year. This simply means that aside from the fact that it is waterproof, it also can carry very heavy load.

To cater to the different tastes and preferences of the market, it comes in 8 different colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, gray and pink. For those among you who worry about the bag being dirty, don’t fret because the materials is washable. You can just wash it everytime you feel that it’s not in its best condition anymore.

All Colors Bags
    All the Wonderful Colors

Each bag is being sold at PHP 1,200 at the Mis Cosas Website (http://miscosasonline.com) or through the Mis Cosas Multiply site (http://miscosas888.multiply.com). For more information or orders, you can also contact the Mis Cosas Team directly through their email address (miscosas888@gmail.com).

Here are the other pictures of the other colors:

“My husband gave me a necklace. It's fake. I requested fake. Maybe I'm paranoid, but in this day and age, I don't want something around my neck that's worth more than my head. ~Rita Rudner”

You got that right Ms. Rita Rudner. In this day and age, when recession came into the picture and it’s just too much to buy jewelry when you know very well that there are some people who can’t even buy a decent mean, would you still save up money to buy SUPER expensive jewelry? I guess for some people who can actually afford it, sure. But for most people who live on a paycheck, this is probably the last thing on their mind.

But of course, for us girls, we would always like to look good, look classy, and look polished. Hence, jewelry is a MUST. Thanks God for EMO and for the brilliant people behind EMO who came up with the idea of offering stainless steel jewelry that is not only hypoallergenic but also costs a fraction of the cost of what real gold jewelry would amount to.

Emo Steel Style

Your first reaction would probably be like - STAINLESS STEEL? WTH? Yes, stainless steel. Did you know that the very popular CHARRIOL from Geneve uses stainless steel for the jewelry? Not only that, some well-known watch companies also use stainless steel, such as Bulova, Invicta and Dolce and Gabbana (to name a few).

One of the good things about using stainless steel jewelry is that it's much harder that most metals such as silver and gold which is why it retains the high polished luster for a long time as compared to silver and white gold.

Currently, EMO is the only stainless steel jewelry maker that I know of here in the Philippines. There might be others out there but I'm not exposed to them. Visiting their branch in Hypermert also made me realize that this brand offers a lot of different styles and designs that would match each and every personality.

This ring looks pretty interesting to me because of the fact that you can change the tops. ;) I really like these interchangeable stuff.

Luckily, I was one of the bloggers who were invited to the launch of Emo and to get a sneak peek of their new collection.

Guess what caught my attention?

Stainless steel heart and butterfly stitched stainless steel flower pendant

This one! And guess who owns this now? ME!

I initially liked this because I thought the butterflies where letter K's from afar and when you zoom in on it, you will notice that those are actually butterflies. This actually reminds me of 2 things:

1.) My love for hearts

2.) Butterflies that always reminds me of my Mama (Grandmother) who passed away a few years back

These are the other items that caught my attention:

Yellow Crystal Sphere Stainless Steel Set

This is my sister and I during the event. Thanks for coming with me to this event! :)

And thanks to Sidney for inviting me to this event. :)

EMO.PH

For those people who are busy like me and for those people who love to go online shopping, good news, they have already revamped their website: Emo.ph. This is a full e-commerce site which allows you to buy their products online and have them delivered to your doorstep in a day or two.

But of course, for those people who still like going to the malls and seeing the items before purchasing them, they still have their stores in the following places:

So, what have you been up to lately? Well, it was a holiday last Monday and I had the very awesome chance to experience Chinese New Year at its best at the Manila Hotel.

Ginger and Kinney at the Manila Hotel
My Sister and I at the Manila Hotel

That night was super fun because it was hosted by Manila’s Queen of Feng Shui Maritess Allen and Manila’s King of Talk Boy Abunda. I guess what is amazing to me is that most of the people who attended were actually Filipinos. I know that it might sound a bit weird but I do believe in Feng Shui because I believe in balance – just like how I believe in Yoga. If you ask me if Feng Shui worked for me, well, I can’t really give you a straight answer because I don’t have a BIG story yet. Maybe, it’ll come, I don’t know. But this I have to tell you, I am truly fascinated with it.

Feng Shui Items

I can’t really remember when I started to have Feng Shui Items. I would probably guess that I’ve had some items since around 2005. It started with the lucky bracelets from Charms and Crystals (which before were around PHP2,800 and now it’s a whopping PHP6,800 per bracelet!!) and graduated to World of Feng Shui items by Lillian Too. The good (well, not so good, I guess) thing about the Lillian Too items is that a lot of people have their own versions so you can get them cheaper – but I guess it would still be pretty expensive.

Personally, I have the following for this year:

Blue Rhino and Elephant (around PHP500)

Blue Rhino and Elephant

This keychain works as a talisman to protect you from the nasty effects of the violent number 7 star - which is said to afflict the boar this year. This particular star is said to manifest itself in the form of robbery, car accidents or someone cheating you of something or someone that is rightfully yours (in other words "ahas" - English translation: snake).

Nightspot Talisman Amulet (around PHP500)

Nightspot Talisman Amulet

This particular amulet brings protection against all sorts of harm and people with bad intentions. Highly recommended for those who work late at the office or those who frequent nightspots or as well as those who have to entertain clients or a travel a lot.

I bought this particular amulet because I am scheduled to travel this month and next month and it wouldn't hurt right? :)

Well, here are just a few reminders if you have these items:

Make sure that you have the "new" version or newly bought amulet because if you're still using the one of last year it would probably be "mahina" (weak) already.
Make sure that nobody else touches these amulets because you're the only one who is "allowed" to touch it. If by any chance someone else touches it by mistake, make sure you re-energize them. How? You can use incense. "Pausukan" mo. I don't know the English translation of that! (haha.)

Anyway, I hope this helps especially for people who are born on the year of the boar and for those people who travel a lot. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions, please feel free to email me. I will try to research more about Feng Shui for you. ;)

Hi, Everyone!

It’s the 17th of January already. 17th day of the year. What have you done so far? As for me, I’m still pretty busy at work. Already preparing for a project that might be a way for me to go to China! Yipee! I’m pretty scared and excited about it. It’s going to be my first time in China and I don’t know what to expect. I actually never thought that I would ever step foot on China.

Anyway, another MAJOR thing (well for me at least), is the release of the new collection of Longchamp. You have to check it out! I’m pretty sure you will LOVE IT (as I do!). So anyone who is going to France or to Europe who would be kind enough to buy for me, I promise I will pay you!

And since I have already established my ultimate FETISH for bags, I’d like to introduce you to The Bag Department. They offer unique and carefully crafted bags of the finest quality. The Satchel Bag became very popular last year with the rise of the Cambridge Satchel Bag. The new take of this bag on the classic school boy image hit the fashion wave and made the fashionistas crazy. Honestly, I don’t have one. But I would like to have one (the one with the color combination) but I’m still not over the Longchamp craze. ;)

But for you gals out there who have already moved on to the satchel-craze, lucky for us, a lot of bag makers here in the Philippines really make great satchel bags. The important thing about the satchel bag is that you have to make sure that the leather is of good quality. It doesn’t really have to be the real deal! And who cares if it’s a replica (for as long as there is no Cambridge Satchel tag – you’re good to go!)?

Here are some of the bags that Bag Department has to offer:

Felicity PHP 1,200
