HYD at the St. James the Great Christmas Bazaar
If you are a bazaarista, one bazaar that you should never ever miss is the ST. JAMES THE GREAT CHRISTMAS BAZAAR. Now on its 20th year and still with free entrance, this year, it will be held on November 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30, 2011. That would be from Saturday to Wednesday – a whopping 5 day affair. It will be from 9:00 AM til 9:00 PM at the Ayala Alabang Village.
St. James the Great Bazaar
As always, there will be a lot of concessionaires, more than 500 to be exact.
The phenomenal Saint James the Great Bazaar has become a tradition at the Ayala Alabang Village. The proceeds of all of these bazaars are for the benefit of St. James Parish Foundation, Inc. whose mandate is to build the parish church and all the structures necessary for the efficient operation of the parish. The Church was built and completed from the proceeds of all of the fund-raising efforts that the community had for the past years.
The bazaar started in 1991 with the goal of raising funds for the construction of the Church. Through the years, the proceeds of the bazaar helped in doing the following:
The construction of the St. James the Great Parish Church from 1991 to 1993
The purchase of the St. James Parking Lot (Cuenca St. Cor. Nasugbu St.) which is now being used as one of the venues of the bazaar.
Installation of the Air-conditioning System of the Main Church.
Build the St. James Parish Rectory Annex for the use of the Parish Priest and the St. James employees quarters
Maintenance & Repair of all Parish structures.
All of the committee members responsible for this bazaar do not receive salaries or commissions from the proceeds of the bazaar. They organize and run the bazaar for the service of the St. James the Great Parish.
The Bazaar Committee is composed of Mimi and Nikki Valerio as Chairpersons, Manny Gonzales, President St. James Foundation, Ricky Presa, President, Parish Pastoral Council, Msgr. Albert Venus, Parish Priest, Edza Gonzales, Titang Montinola as members and Juliet del Rosario, St. James Foundation Office Secretary.

Carlainity Manila’s Holiday Collection 2012
It’s October 10, 2011. The second month of the –BER months. The 10th day of the 2nd –BER month of 2011. The holiday rush is starting. BUT, I for one am not in the holiday mood yet. I think it’s probably because of the soo many things that are going on around me. Or it could also probably be that Halloween still has not finished AND my birthday has still not yet come around. So I will just start thinking about Christmas starting November 18, 2011. I will mark that date and from that time on, I SHOULD be able to buy Christmas gifts already.
Carilainity
Contrary to how I feel, Carlainity Manila is already feeling the holiday vibe by launching their holiday collection. The Carlainity Shoes are available at the Backstage Store while the Store Pretty Shoes are available at the Follow Your Heart Shop.
Looking at the styles that are available, it seems like the whole theme of the holiday collection is espadrilles and wedges. Have you ever read the book The One Hundred by Nina Garcia? Well, if you did, you would have known that #29 is espadrilles. It’s a must that a girl has her own pair of Espadrilles.

Aside from going to the Backstage Store and the Follow Your Heart Shop, you can also go to the Fashion Gives Back Bazaar on October 14-15 at the Il Terrazo Rustan’s Tomas Morato, Quezon City.
Make Your Shopping More Meaningful
There are a lot of Christmas Bazaars that are being organized here and there. And to make your shopping more meaningful, pick out the bazaar that would be giving something back to society. When you atted the Fashion Gives Back Bazaar on October 14-15 (this weekend) at the Il Terrazo Rustan’s Tomas Morato, Quezon City, you will be supporting the cause of Carlainity which is to build a solar powered library for Camiguin Norte students. The reason behind this is that the Babuyan Island does not have daily electricity.
This is actually pretty cool. This is actually the first time ever that I’ve ever heard of a project concerning solar-powered systems. When I took a train to Germany, I noticed that a lot of fields had solar panels and I was amazed that they were able to do this. It would be pretty cool if the Philippines would also more aware of this kind of technology and utilize it even more. First, it saves the environment. Secondly, it won’t cost that much in the long run.
I really hope to see more and more projects like these and I hope to hear of more and more people involved in giving something back to society. Think of it as thanking God for all of the blessings that you have received. Paying it forward because it will definitely come back to you.
Have a great Monday night everyone!
