Late Post: @bdjbox July: Pure and Simple

July box came in late but nevertheless, it never fails to make me happy. What really made me happy was the fact that it had the Keratin Complex Travel Valet Care Kit.

Keratin Complex Travel Valet Care Kit

If you have been following me on Instagram and on FB, you would have probably seen my post of my newly Keratin-ed hair. My gosh! That treatment is super sulit. I actually get that treatment at least once a year at Piandre, and it really smoothens my hair.

Keratin Complex

In a nutshell, this treatment infuses natural keratin deep into the hair’s cuticle which reduces the frizz and the curl. Yes, unfortunately, I do have wavy hair. It lasts for 3-5 months for as long as you’re really careful about it and take care of it by using the specialized shampoos and conditioners.

Anyway, going back, the other items that I have in the box are the following:

Pink Sugar Fine Fragrance Mist in Mad for Melon, 250 ml, PHP 299 each, Fruity Collection

Pink Sugar Fine Fragrance Mist

Celeteque Back Acne Spray, 50 ml, PHP 320

Which I really used to use when I had a lot of pimples in my back. BOOHOO! But amazingly enough, it really works ha!

Celeteque Back Acne Spray

Enchanted Eyeshadow Palette, 6g, PHP 199

Enchanted Eyeshadow Palette

Which I already tried and tested. It looks great doesn’t it?

Enchanted Eyeshadow Palette

Hygienix and Vitress

Hygienix Hand Gel, 100ml; PHP 45

Hygienix Hand Spray, 55ml; PHP 40

Both of which are a must have in my bag.

Hygienix Products

Vitress Instant Relax, 30ml; PHP 75

Vitress Hair Solenn, 30ml; PHP 80

Both of which, surprisingly works well with my hair. I actually think Vitress reformulated because when I tried their product before, it was so heavy that people with fine hair (like me) would have “flat” hair – if you know what I mean. But this time around, it works perfectly! Parang bagong Keratin ang hair ko. *naks*

Vitress Products

Nivea Travel Kit

Nivea Pure Effect Exfoliating Wipes, 20 wipes, PHP 139

Nivea In Shower Skin Conditioner, 100ml; PHP 109

Nivea Anti-Persiparant Invisible Spray, 150ml; PHP 184

Nivea Products

All of which I tried but my favorite among the three was the Exfoliating Wipes. This is something that people who love to travel would love to have. It has 2 sides, one to wipe way your make up and the other side to exfoliate. Cool, huh?

What did I think of the July Box?

I would think I was pretty happy with the box given that the box costs PHP580 only and it saved me money from buying all of these stuff that I think I “need”. I guess, that’s a revelation to me as well. I’m probably more of a “need” vs. “wants” girl. Or just recently, I already know how to differentiate the two. And probably, right now, I’m more mature and I’ve realized that in life, you can get by already with the things that you “need”. So yes, BDJ Box, I’m pretty happy. Thanks! :)

The Unboxing: May BDJ Box @bdjbox #MayBDJBox #bdjbox

Last weekend, was an UBER busy weekend for me. That even if I already received my first ever BDJ Box, I didn’t really open it yet because I wanted to really “focus” when I open it. And just in case I tear something, I wouldn’t have a hard time taking a picture of it all over again.

When the package came, I was wondering what it could have been. The first thing I saw were the slippers. So I was a little confused because I didn’t order any slippers. :P

I was going to pack it for my Bacolod Trip but then again, I got too tamad na to unpack and repack. Don’t worry. For my next trip, you will be the start of the show! ;)

Since it’s my first time to get a BDJ Box, I read through everything and what really excited me the most was getting the samples of Organix, Pumpkin Sleeping Pack, Godiva, and Revlon Nail Polish.Manila Shopaholic May BDJ Box 5-22-2014 9-06-56 PM 2048x2048

Here’s just a picture of the stuff inside the box! ;)

I really wanted to buy these Organix stuff because my hair has been soo unmanageable lately! Because of the heat and because my hair dryer is acting up. And I’m waaay too cheap to buy a new one. Or maybe just tamad to even bother. :P But yay, giddy to try this out.

This one is still worth trying. Although, I’m not really a BIG fan of facial masks. Well, maybe it’ll work. Who knows right? :P

And this one, sooo cute. :) I love the packaging of Too Cool For School. Interested in how this will go as well. :)Manila Shopaholic May BDJ Box 5-22-2014 9-06-063

And Godiva stuff! I actually learned from my sister, Mommy Ginger, that it worked well for her. Here’s to hoping that it’ll work for me, too.Manila Shopaholic May BDJ Box 5-22-2014 9-06-064

Oh and I’m not that into nails but I know that I have to already. FOINE. When I get back from Bacolod, I’m gonna treat myself to some mani and pedi. Decision to be made: what color to use. Any suggestions? :)

And some GCs and stuff. I wonder if I get to use them. Hopefully, I will.

Actually, I just repurchased another box from BDJ. Haha. How exciting. Next box would be coming in July. Can’t wait. But for now, I’m gonna try to do the 7-day thing. :) Next week. When I come back. Wish me a happy vacation! :)

2nd day of 2014

It’s the 2nd day of 2014. How did you spend it? :) As for me, this has always been an important day of our lives because it’s the death anniversary of my Mama (my lola). But aside from that, I’m grateful that I’m sill on a holiday.

Got up today and started the day right by going to the gym. 40 minutes on the treadmill and 57minutes on the stepper while listening to Tiesto’s Podcast – Part 2 of the Best of 2013.

Among my favorites of last year’s tracks are the following:

Avicii and Nicky Romero – I Could Be The One

Passion Pit – Carried Away

Ellie Goulding ft. Calvin Harris – I Need Your Love

Zedd ft. Foxes – Clarity

All of these songs made me remember some of the things that happened to me in the past year. Yes, songs have that effect on me. Makes me wonder, what would be the songs of this year? ;)

After the workout and the reminiscing, I was ready to go back home. Had lunch at home which was totally not diet food and slept. :( Yep, my life during the break was eat-sleep-eat-sleep-repeat. But it’s okay. It’s a welcome break from wake up-work-go home-check emails-sleep-repeat. The only concern that I have right now is… will I be able to get up early for work on the 6th? And how fast would I be able to get back on track to working again?

Aside from that I also got something that I ordered from Taste Central 4 days ago.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil
DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

This is still pretty fast for Taste Central given that they already had a break! :)

Oh and another thing that I saw over the internet today was the list of the holidays for this year! :)

2014 Holidays

So, as early as now, you can already plan your vacations! Which I will do when I get to work on January 6. :)

2014-02-01 Snippets
2014-02-01 Snippets

These are the other snippets of my day.

1.) Lower left – I dropped by Sarabia Optical today and I saw my most coveted sunnies on display. Oh I LOVE <3 them. It’s just that it’s a WANT and not a need. And this year, I’m practicing frugality.

2.) Upper right – had dinner at Franco’s. (note: cannot find any reviews on this yet.) It’s the restaurant that took the place of Myron’s at the Powerplant Mall but it basically has more or less the same menu. I ordered the grilled salmon which was pretty good.

3.) Upper left – My grandaunt bought some Cupcakes from Sonja’s. Tried this new flavor (which name I forgot). It’s yummy but it tastes like buttercake with frosting and costs PHP 135 :O which was a shocker to my granduncle. Oh funny, granduncle.

Basically, my 2014 has been great, what about yours? How has the past 2 days been treating you?

Looking for the Perfect Fit Product for me

Meeeh. Talk about stress. This week has probably been one of the worst weeks of my life. Though, I really don’t want to talk about that further. I have figured that talking about what makes you sad and stressed will just aggravate the situation. So, I’ll just shut up about that.

The problem is the stress is really getting into my nerves and I really am having really BAD break outs! GRRR. And I have never, never, had breakouts in my life. BOO. STRESS, I really hate you.

So, I am in the midst of looking for that perfect problem that would fit me. A derma friend of mine suggested that I use Epiduo.

The picture here doesn’t really show you how it looks like here in the Philippines. In the Philippines, it comes in a really small tube. I finished one bottle and I have noticed that it really purged my skin to the point that I had a lot of pimples out but the good thing about it is that it dried it up earlier. Before really using g the product, I read a lot of reviews. And they really said that it would be an effect. The only problem is that by the time I was about to finish the tube, I didn’t really see any improvement. I still bought another tube but I stopped afterward.

What I am using now is Celetque.

So far, so good. But still hasn’t cleared my skin though. Good thing is that I don’t get breakouts anymore out of the blue. Meaning, I still get pimples, lets say when it’s the time of the month and all. But still, I’m still looking for the perfect fit product for me.

Any suggestions, guys? I really need help!!

General Cleaning Your Make Up Kit

I’m not sure if you guys are really up to date regarding this but I have to admit that if there’s one thing that I USUALLY miss out on, it’s to “spring clean” my makeup kit. Since we don’t have Spring – let’s just call it “mid-year” makeup bag clean up. I found a resource which actually has all of these items listed down.

But as you know me, I am very OC and I work well with a checklist so I went ahead and created a checklist just for all of us. Hehe. ;)

Make Up Clean Up ChecklistClick on the link to download the file:Make Up Clean Up Checklist

How to use this resource:

  • Whenever you buy a product contentiously mark it in this table.
  • Once you have that down, count how long it would take you to have another check.
  • You would probably have to print more copies of this as this would only encompass for a year. But I’m hoping this helps.

Also, take note that for some products, there is already an expiration date indicated in the tube or the packaging of the product so you may disregard this.

As for makeup brushes, please make sure that you clean them every 2 to 4 weeks. For disposal, you should only replace them once the brushes start shedding already. Otherwise, just clean them every 2 to 4 weeks. They should still be intact for years. Personal experience? I only changed my face brushes, the once that I use almost on a daily basis, 5 years after. So this should also be true for you!

Anyway, I hope this resource helps. If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, let me know. I can edit this document. :)
