BDJ Box: January- February 2015: Have a Kawaii Year ahead

My gosh! I have absolutely been really busy! And my resolution to blog more regularly – not working. Haha. Oh well. Who cares right?

But then I just really wanted to share this because this is the first BDJ Box of the year and I was able to get one. You see? The thing about me, I don’t subscribe on a monthly basis because first of all, I don’t really blog that often anymore and secondly, I really don’t get to finish everything so I might end up having a lot of beauty products in my bathroom and it’ll be such a waste.

But just to share with you, I was actually pretty pleased with this box.

Photo 2-2-15, 10 56 36 PM

See how cute the packaging is?

Photo 2-2-15, 11 03 30 PM

And you would see that there’s the usual paper that comes along with it.

Photo 2-2-15, 11 03 58 PM

Yes, mantra for this year. Well, actually I was thinking about it and yes, I think this year, I have to build a lot of self confidence. I think for the past year, I’ve lost it somehow, I don’t know why. I guess because my face is really breaking out now. Soo sad. I’ve gained weight. BOOHOO. But this year, I promise to do everything to boost my self confidence again so that I’ll be happy and comfortable with myself.

Photo 2-2-15, 11 06 19 PM

Cool thing about this box is that it contains this magazine thingy wherein you can read more about the Kawaii products and other products under those brands. I have a confession to make, I’m soo not versed with these products. Hihi. I think I’m still more westernized. 😛

  • Bifesta Cleansing lotion, 300ml

This breakthrough makeup remover gently removes makeup and effectively cleanses skin. This is Japan’s first ever water based makeup remover that absorbs impurities, leaving skin feeling fresh and moisturized without the oily feeling.

Photo 2-2-15, 11 09 03 PM

PHP 419

My take: Yes, this actually removes makeup completely. However I’ve noticed that you have to use a lot of the product and a lot of the cotton and since it’s watery, it really is kind of messy. Although what I like about this is that it really DOES NOT sting.

  • Lucido-L Styling Milk, 75ml

This day time hair supplement styles and treats your hair at the same time! Powered by Hyaluronic Acid, it caots hair strands for soft and tangle-free hair, with a long-lasting, sweet and fruity-floral scent. It comes in 4 variants to suit whatever style you like.

Photo 2-2-15, 11 17 10 PM

PHP 295

My take: Love this. I used it after I shampoo my hair when I kind of have dried it already and just before drying my hair with a blower.

  • Lucido Treatment Oil, 50ml

Repairs dry and damage hair during sleep for softer and smoother hair upon waking up! It contains ingredients similar to what is found in your cuticles and cortex cells which help retain water by filling up the gaps caused by damage to maintain moisture for more manageable and healthier hair.

Photo 2-2-15, 11 16 42 PM

PHP 295

My take: It’s just like any other hair oil. Same as the Lucido-L Styling Milk, I use it after I kind of dried my hair and before drying my hair with a blower. I’m not sure if I’m supposed to do that but that works for me. With me, I never not dry my hair because I get a headache if I sleep with my hair wet.

  • Pixy Powder Foundation TWC FIT, 12.2g

This powder formula blends perfectly for a smooth and long lasting base. Use it wet for more coverage, or dry for a natural look. It contains two way whitening squalene oil to prevent dry skin, and SPF15 to protect your skin from sun damage.

Photo 2-2-15, 11 21 56 PM

PHP 275

My Take: Pleasantly surprised about this. I have been looking for a compact foundation which isn’t expensive but does the great coverage and this is probably it. Also, if you notice, the color is a bit dark for me but it blends perfectly well. So two thumbs up!

  • Pixy Powder Foundation Coverlast, 10g

This long lasting powder foundation from Pixy has Microsphere Powder that covers blemishes for natural makeup look. It also contains oil and shine to keep looking fresh all throughout the day.

Photo 2-2-15, 11 23 39 PM

PHP 325

My Take: If the other product is good. This is better! I dunno why but then it really has great coverage and that’s the number one thing for me.

  • Pixy Blush on, 3.5g

This pretty blush will help you pull off that natural, cute flush on your cheeks, giving you innocent glow whenever you smile. It also comes with a built-in mirror for easy touch ups! Try different shades of brown, pink and purple for your desired look.

Photo 2-2-15, 11 20 06 PM

PHP 345

My Take: If you notice, I got the brown one. I was a bit scary about it at first but when I put it on, it looks uber natural so this was A-OK for me!

  • Pixy Eyeshadow, 2.8g

Its Micro-pearl formula created soft texture that makes it easy to apply and blend on your lids. Its two-color combination makes it easy to use. Combine it with other shades to create more eye makeup looks!

Photo 2-2-15, 11 19 17 PM

My Take: Love this color because it’s perfect for every day. I really love the natural look right now.

  • Sunkiller Perfect Water Essence, 27ml

This water-based Japanese sunscreen gel feels water-light and delivers superior UVA protection and can double as your makeup base. It applies like water and is sebum proof, leaving skin feeling fresh, clean and smooth.

Photo 2-2-15, 11 26 02 PM

PHP 495

My Take: It’s really difficult to look for a sunscreen that you would like and this is probably one of them. It dries clear and isn’t heavy at all. So, will definitely buy this product again.

So that’s it for now. I’m really sleepy now. 😛 BOO. Goodnight folks and I’m soo excited for my next BDJ Box!

What I Bought from BeautyMNL

The other day, I realized that I didn’t have any more hand cream. 😐 Not that this has always been a custom for me. But you know when you started and then you get into the habit of doing something already and then you stopped, it seems like there’s something missing?

My ritual that included the hand cream thing started out after my trip from China. I used to wear this jade bangle (which I just got reminded of, I should look for that) that fits perfectly. And when you say “fits perfectly” referring to the Jade Bangle. It should be tight enough that it won’t fall through your hands or bye-bye bangle.

So for you to wear the bangle, well for me, so that I won’t get red and blotchy (blame it on sensitive skin), I have to put lotion so that it slides through. 😛

So anyway, going back, knowing that I don’t have any hand cream anymore and knowing that I don’t have time to go to the mall (yes, uhuh, I’m that busy :(), I decided to check buy beauty stuff from

I’m a self-confessed fan of Deal Grocer and Taste Central and honestly, Beauty MNL is also pretty cool. They have curated the perfect line up for you guys. Although I have to admit that I was still looking for some things that are not there. But then again, they’re not a mall. Not their fault. 😛

Stuff that I got from Beauty MNL:

1.) Nuovo Lusso – Luxe Verbena Hand Cream (30ml)
PHP 135

Nuovo Lusso - Luxe Verbena Hand Cream (30ml) PHP 135

Although I love the scent, it actually smells like the L’Occitane series which I truly, truly love. It’s quite small – 30 ml. But that’s not their fault. My fault because I didn’t see that there’s a 100ml one. 😛

But as for the smell, smells really, really good and I’m falling in love with that because of that. 😛

Surprise! Surprise! Since I was probably one of the first 30 buyers, I got a free perfume sample from Scents and Style. I forgot what scent that was but it really, really smells good. I’ve been looking for their Facebook Fan Page but nope, sorry none. 😛

2.) Wet N’ Wild – Mega Volume Mascara
PHP 299.00

Wet N Wild - Mega Volume Mascara

This is my first time to use this but it looks promising. Let’s see how it fairs in contrast to the trusty Maybelline mascaras. 🙂

3.) Moringa Body Butter
PHP 612.00

The Body Shop - Moringa Body Butter

Happy to see this here since this is one my favorites. 🙂 I love the scent and the product. I was looking for Satsuma also though. That’s another one of my favorites. But it was sold out. I can’t blame them. 😛

4.) The Face Shop – Face It Power Perfection BB Cream SPF37
PHP 1,315

The Face Shop - Face It Power Perfection

Because just recently, I have become a FAN of BB Creams. I know a bit lag since there’s already CC cream. But for me, honestly, BB Creams are still better than CC Creams. 😛

5.) The Face Shop – Face It Aura Color Control CC Cream SPF30
PHP 1,315.00

The Face Shop - Aura CC Cream

Because this has got to be one of the coolest products ever invented! 🙂 I used to buy those cream compact foundation but it never worked well. Like for instance that of The Body Shop, (yes, I am a fan of The Body Shop but just not that product :P), the brush that it comes with falls off!! 🙁

But this one, soo cool. My friend first got this for me from Korea and then I just bought the refill here. You just push the button, CC cream comes out. Use the sponge and apply to your face. Good coverage and blendability (if there is a term like that). Easy, breezy and not messy at all!! <3

Items that I would love to see at Beauty MNL:

  • Maybelline Mascaras! 🙂
  • The Body Shop Gift Packs. I love those little ones because they’re perfect for travelling and when you go to the gym. Lighter in the bag. 😉
  • Shopper rebates, please? 🙂 A lot of these shops have shopper rebates like The Body Shop and The Face Shop. I would love it that when I shop at Beauty MNL, I won’t say “sayang” the points because I didn’t get it offline. 😛

Top 10 Fragrances for Me… Right Now.

A recent conversation I had with a friend opened my eyes up to the fact that I actually do like fragrances. Probably, these are some of the things that we take for granted. Automatically, we just spritz on and never really think about it. But when asked what my favorite fragrance is, I can’t just name one. I have a whole lot on my mind and naming one would be unfair to other scents that I really love. But me, being the “perfect consumer” that I am, USUALLY, I’m attracted to fragrances with really nice bottles.

Thank God for online shopping, I can already browse through all of the nice bottles before I hit the stores to actually test them. Time saver. And right now, my favorite online shopping site would be Zalora that offers a lot of fragrances on their site – both local and imported!

Anyway, here goes…

  • Pink Sugar – Mad for Melon

This one, I have actually featured over at my blog last August. I got it from the BDJ Box and I actually do enjoy it. I’m not sure if a lot of people would like it as much as I do because it smells soo sweet but I like it that way. Note to self: I like fruity fragrances. It’s uplifting and fun and refreshing for me.

Mad for Melon

  • Dolce & Gabbana – Light Blue

How can you ever go wrong with the classic scent? This scent is a mix of fruits and flowers. Just the perfect combination and it really smells soo refreshing.

  • Lanvin – Eclat D’Arpege

Still on the fruity-floral side of things. But what really differentiates this for me is that it is accentuated by lush peach blossom and sensual red peony. Love it!

  • Oilily Blue Sparkle

And true to my word, this caught my attention because of the cute bottle! 😛 Yes, I know I’m shallow like that. What I like about this? It makes me feel young and vibrant!

  • Oilily Classic de Parfum

I officially declare that Oilily is my new favorite already! Love the bottles and love the scents.

Oilily Classic Eau De Parfum

  • Salvatore Ferragamo Incanto Charms

But before Oilily stepped into my world. I was first in love with Salvatore Ferragamo’s Incanto line. Leading would be Incanto Charm. It’s limited edition and just like any of my picks, it’s also floral-fruity but with the very distinct smell of passionfruit.

  • Salvatore Ferragamo Incanto Shine

This one, hands down. For sure, guys will be falling in love with you if they smell this. I place my money on this one.

Salvatore Ferragamo Incanto Shine

  • Balenciaga – Rosa Botanica

Hailed by Vogue as well as one of the top fragrances of 2014. Smells classic but still fun!

Balenciaga Rosabotanica

  • Escada – Born in Paradise

I have always loved the Escada fragrances. Plus the chill vibe that it gives me becaue of the box. It reminds me of the Hed Kandi era!

Escada Born in Paradise

  • Jo Malone – Rain and Angelica

Okay, so this is the newest one in my list. 😉 Yes, soo refreshing. Just like rain.

Jo Malone - Rain and Angelica

So this list is a mix of the old and the new. I guess, that’s just how it goes. There will be some fragrances that will stay with you forever and for as long as it’s available. But there will be some that will be trendy. Just like fashion, ey?

So, what about you? What’s your poison?

Late Post: @bdjbox July: Pure and Simple

July box came in late but nevertheless, it never fails to make me happy. What really made me happy was the fact that it had the Keratin Complex Travel Valet Care Kit.

Keratin Complex Travel Valet Care Kit

If you have been following me on Instagram and on FB, you would have probably seen my post of my newly Keratin-ed hair. My gosh! That treatment is super sulit. I actually get that treatment at least once a year at Piandre, and it really smoothens my hair.

Keratin Complex

In a nutshell, this treatment infuses natural keratin deep into the hair’s cuticle which reduces the frizz and the curl. Yes, unfortunately, I do have wavy hair. It lasts for 3-5 months for as long as you’re really careful about it and take care of it by using the specialized shampoos and conditioners.

Anyway, going back, the other items that I have in the box are the following:

Pink Sugar Fine Fragrance Mist in Mad for Melon, 250 ml, PHP 299 each, Fruity Collection

Pink Sugar Fine Fragrance Mist

Celeteque Back Acne Spray, 50 ml, PHP 320

Which I really used to use when I had a lot of pimples in my back. BOOHOO! But amazingly enough, it really works ha!

Celeteque Back Acne Spray

Enchanted Eyeshadow Palette, 6g, PHP 199

Enchanted Eyeshadow Palette

Which I already tried and tested. It looks great doesn’t it?

Enchanted Eyeshadow Palette

Hygienix and Vitress

Hygienix Hand Gel, 100ml; PHP 45

Hygienix Hand Spray, 55ml; PHP 40

Both of which are a must have in my bag.

Hygienix Products

Vitress Instant Relax, 30ml; PHP 75

Vitress Hair Solenn, 30ml; PHP 80

Both of which, surprisingly works well with my hair. I actually think Vitress reformulated because when I tried their product before, it was so heavy that people with fine hair (like me) would have “flat” hair – if you know what I mean. But this time around, it works perfectly! Parang bagong Keratin ang hair ko. *naks*

Vitress Products

Nivea Travel Kit

Nivea Pure Effect Exfoliating Wipes, 20 wipes, PHP 139

Nivea In Shower Skin Conditioner, 100ml; PHP 109

Nivea Anti-Persiparant Invisible Spray, 150ml; PHP 184

Nivea Products

All of which I tried but my favorite among the three was the Exfoliating Wipes. This is something that people who love to travel would love to have. It has 2 sides, one to wipe way your make up and the other side to exfoliate. Cool, huh?

What did I think of the July Box?

I would think I was pretty happy with the box given that the box costs PHP580 only and it saved me money from buying all of these stuff that I think I “need”. I guess, that’s a revelation to me as well. I’m probably more of a “need” vs. “wants” girl. Or just recently, I already know how to differentiate the two. And probably, right now, I’m more mature and I’ve realized that in life, you can get by already with the things that you “need”. So yes, BDJ Box, I’m pretty happy. Thanks! 🙂

For more information about the BDJ Box:

The Unboxing: May BDJ Box @bdjbox #MayBDJBox #bdjbox

Last weekend, was an UBER busy weekend for me. That even if I already received my first ever BDJ Box, I didn’t really open it yet because I wanted to really “focus” when I open it. And just in case I tear something, I wouldn’t have a hard time taking a picture of it all over again.

When the package came, I was wondering what it could have been. The first thing I saw were the slippers. So I was a little confused because I didn’t order any slippers. 😛

Manila Shopaholic May BDJ Box 5-22-2014 9-06-54 PM 1936x2592Yay! So thank you for this BDJ Box and Salvatos. You just made my life more interesting! I was going to pack it for my Bacolod Trip but then again, I got too tamad na to unpack and repack. Don’t worry. For my next trip, you will be the start of the show! 😉

Manila Shopaholic May BDJ Box 5-22-2014 9-06-56 PM 1936x2592

Since it’s my first time to get a BDJ Box, I read through everything and what really excited me the most was getting the samples of Organix, Pumpkin Sleeping Pack, Godiva, and Revlon Nail Polish.Manila Shopaholic May BDJ Box 5-22-2014 9-06-56 PM 2048x2048

Here’s just a picture of the stuff inside the box! 😉

Manila Shopaholic May BDJ Box 5-22-2014 9-06-060

I really wanted to buy these Organix stuff because my hair has been soo unmanageable lately! Because of the heat and because my hair dryer is acting up. And I’m waaay too cheap to buy a new one. Or maybe just tamad to even bother. 😛 But yay, giddy to try this out.

Manila Shopaholic May BDJ Box 5-22-2014 9-06-061

This one is still worth trying. Although, I’m not really a BIG fan of facial masks. Well, maybe it’ll work. Who knows right? 😛

Manila Shopaholic May BDJ Box 5-22-2014 9-06-062

And this one, sooo cute. 🙂 I love the packaging of Too Cool For School. Interested in how this will go as well. 🙂Manila Shopaholic May BDJ Box 5-22-2014 9-06-063

And Godiva stuff! I actually learned from my sister, Mommy Ginger, that it worked well for her. Here’s to hoping that it’ll work for me, too.Manila Shopaholic May BDJ Box 5-22-2014 9-06-064

Oh and I’m not that into nails but I know that I have to already. FOINE. When I get back from Bacolod, I’m gonna treat myself to some mani and pedi. Decision to be made: what color to use. Any suggestions? 🙂

Manila Shopaholic May BDJ Box 5-22-2014 9-06-065

And some GCs and stuff. I wonder if I get to use them. Hopefully, I will.

Actually, I just repurchased another box from BDJ. Haha. How exciting. Next box would be coming in July. Can’t wait. But for now, I’m gonna try to do the 7-day thing. 🙂 Next week. When I come back. Wish me a happy vacation! 🙂
