30 Things to Do Before Turning 30

I saw this article from the online Cosmo Philippines Website. (Click here.) Clicked on it because it is definitely, definitely applicable to me this year. Yes, this year, is the year that I will be turning 30. (I don’t look like it naman, right?) But I have to let you in on a secret, I am nowhere I thought I would be or how I envisioned myself or how my life would turn out. You may say that yes, I am quite disappointed at how things turned out in my life but there are still a lot of things that I am grateful for.

I guess, I am where God wants me to be. And this is probably the best place for me right now. So moving on to the list.

1.) Travel to at least 2 countries around the world. – DONE! Travelled to a lot of countries already especially the bit when I lived in France for about 3 months.

2.) Try an extreme sport or (or ride a really legit rollercoaster). – I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to do this. I am obviously not “extreme” kind of girl. BUT the rollercoaster, okay fine.

3.) Plan a backpacking trip with your partner or barkada. – NOT MY TYPE and will NOT do this ever.

4.) Visit at least five beaches in the Philippines. – I think I was able to go already to 3 – Boracay, Cebu and Palawan. Where else should I go?

5.) Go on a retreat a la-Eat, Pray, Love. – Yes, I’m going to go to that silent retreat. I have to admit, I need to figure some things out.

6.) Rough it up and go camping. While you’re at it, ditch all your gadgets for a whole day! – NOT MY TYPE as well.

7.) Set up a part-time business as an extra source of income. – Tried this but I think it’s just not for me.

8.) Take a postgraduate degree overseas. – Maybe not for me as well as I don’t want to study anymore. 😛

9.) Have an adventurous love affair. – Hmmm… interesting

10.) Go on a cruise. – I think this is on my list as well.

11.) Hit the party scene and feel like you’re twenty-two, as Taylor Swift would say. – Let’s see!!

12.) Experience living in a different country for a few years. – Possible. But I don’t think I’d survive a few years. A few months, maybe.

13.) Find a new hobby, like yoga, pilates, or rock climbing. – I’m thinking of either pilates or Poi dancing.

14.) Go scuba diving. – NO. This will scare the heck out of me.

15.) Take a food trip around Asia. – This would be fun! BUT, I need to be really thin before I go on this trip.

16.) Finish a marathon. – I almost died the last time I ran a 10k marathon. But let’s see.

17.) Hook up with your childhood crush before settling down. – HEH? OMG. HAHA.

18.) Have at least one kick ass job you can be proud of. – I think I have a pretty much kick ass job and I’m proud of it. Yes, the nerd in me. But I love <3 my job because I love the people I work with. They’re soo funny sometimes.

19.) Open your own bank account. – DONE!

20.) Move out of your parents house. – Let’s see if my mom agrees.

21.) Have a stable group of friends – Yes, I do. I have a steady group of friends and I love them to death. Always there for me when I need their support. BUT, if there was one thing that I would have changed, I would have wanted to be closer to my highschool friends.

22.) Forgive your enemies and cut ties with anchors. – I’m still thinking if there are some people in my mind who are “enemies”. Actually, seems like there is none. I’m the kind of person who forgives easily. Too easily in fact. But what I need to do is steer clear of people who pulls me down. Something that I’ve really gotta learn.

23.) Buy your parents a major “thank you” gift. – Gotta think about this.

24.) Have an impressive resume that doesn’t need padding. – HAH! I think I have a pretty good resume. 😛 (YABANG!) But I just need to update it. Thou shall update my resume.

25.) Buy something ridiculously expensive as a gift for yourself. – I actually already did this. I bought an LV bag. And I’m never going to do that EVER again. (I hope I don’t eat my words ;))

26.) Save enough money to buy a car (a secondhand will do). – I already bought my own car! HAH! One proud girl. But maybe buying another car will be a good achievement as well.

27.) Know how to fall in love the right way. – Currently, in progress.

28.) Ditch your insecurities and embrace your curves! – MUST learn this.

29.) Overcome a fear. – I can’t think of any fear.

30.) Learn how to say “no”. – MUST learn this as well.

Definitely, there are some things that I still have to add to my life list. And I need to get a move on through that list. It’s April already and I haven’t really finished a lot yet. Soo busy with work. New roles, new work, new laptop, new everything. Yes, I’m looking forward. I bet this will be one fulfilling year – yet again. 😉
